Men’s magazine, FHM, will be giving women with loads of skills and beautiful smiles the opportunity to become FHM’s girlfriend every month.
Says Brendan Cooper, editor of FHM: “We’re not searching for wannabe glamour models with glow-in-the-dark orange faces and inflatable boobs – we want to meet the coolest, sexiest girls in South Africa – and shoot the very best for the magazine.”
Cooper says that each month FHM will offer a girl a chance to become FHM’s girlfriend by sending pictures toGirlfriend@FHM.co.za. The photos will be judged by a panel of FHM staff who will choose one girl per issue to take part in a photoshoot with a top FHM photographer and to have her photos published in the magazine and on FHM’s website. Only girls 18 years old or over may enter.
FHM’s very first girlfriend, Nicky Vertue from Cape Town, features in the July issue of FHM, which is on sale now. Vertue, who is currently unemployed, says that her father is her hero. What makes her an ideal girlfriend, as she revealed to FHM, is that she wouldn’t mind a date at McDonalds, as it is the thought that counts, not the venue. She’ll also join in playing Xbox, and won’t mind if her boyfriend spends a night or two out with his buddies, as long as she is entitled to the same.
