Arcade Content’s Kyle Lewis has just completed his first campaign for Volkswagen and Ogilvy Cape Town, with two typically bold brand films perfectly matched to the Volkswagen Up’s positioning as “the bold car that takes you places.” The Volkswagen up! now comes with more colours, more options and 5 doors. These colourful brand films showcase a warmer side to Lewis, who’s made his name with intense music videos for the likes of Cassper Nyovest, Riky Rick, Khuli Chana and Tumi. Lewis has also recently done work with Native VML for Absolut and The Loeries.
William Nicholson, Arcade’s producer and co-founder, praises Ogilvy’s creative team of Mike Martin, Bella Evans and Lubabalo Mtoti. “They saw the potential in Kyle’s reel and trusted him to bring his unique flavour to the brand films, rather than asking him to fit a certain mould. Lewis is the only South African director to have been featured twice on leading international trade Shots this year, and the only one to have been selected as a HotShot. He’s currently nominated for a SAMA for best music video for the third year in a row, having already won once.
