David Tshabalala to showcase his ‘Run the World’ series of images at Joziburg

Well-known Graphic designer David Tshabalala aka Slaying Goliath, will be showcasing his Run the World series of images at Joziburg, Johannesburg’s freshest new downtown complex at One Eloff.
The exhibition stems from his three year old Instabition that profiles a woman a day through the month of August, in his playful and graphic style.

David Tshabalala’s work has seen him selected to be an Emerging Creative at the 2013 Design Indaba. He has been featured in various creative blogs and was a mentee on the Play Energy Drink sponsored Creative Union reality show on Vuzu in 2013. David was also selected as one The Mail and Guardian’s 200 Top South Africans in 2015.

“Run The World stemmed from a bunch of requests from female friends who wanted me to illustrate them on separate occasions…” Explains David. “I want to profile young South African women who I consider to be the future thought leaders of South Africa. These are young women who may or may not be known under the public spotlight, yet, in each of their creative disciplined passions and careers, they illuminate a spirit of solidarity in power. Warrior women who will indeed inherit the earth.”

Come Woman’s Day, Joziburg will be exhibiting portraits from the last 2 years of Davids instabition. These portraits will live at Joziburg’s One Eloff for the month of August. Make sure to join him for the exhibition launch and hear from this artist and the women who have inspired his work, over some good music, food and drinks on the 9th of August from 2pm – 7pm. On the 31st the exhibition with a look at this years featured women.
