STREAM: Riky Rick drops ‘Stay Shining’ EP – a storytelling project

Featuring A-Reece, Nasty C, Tshego, Davido, Gemini Major, Frank Casino and J Molley

Riky Rick’s new EP project ‘Stay Shining’ has released. The EP is packed with 8 new tracks, including his two lead singles; Buy It Out and Stay Shining.

And we have to give props to a great and magnificent selection of featured artists on this project; A-Reece, Nasty C, Tshego, Davido, Gemini Major, Frank Casino and J Molley to mention a few.

This is a solid delivery from Riky, fusing the sound of Kwaito, his signature style of Hip-Hop plus trap and still introducing Afrobeats with Davido and Gemini Major.

The EP opens up with a simple intro Jordans Intro, which is nothing but a good symphony. Still messing with that Kwaito sound, on Joy, Riky tells a story of this sad industry and its ups/downs while he regrets impressing unimportant people rather than sticking by his family.

A-Reece appears on Pick You Up, a trap-inspired and definitely hard beat jam. Vapors is a go-hard type of jam, just how Tshego vibes with Nasty C delivering a solid mellow and groovy jam.

Letting you know how the sound of Afrobeats is impacting everyone, Riky decided to make it evident with Murdah, which features Davido and Gemini Major. This is a simple track with some dancehall flavour, bringing in both Davido and Gemini to add that ragga vibe with their lyrical style.

And wrapping up the playlist, Riky closes the project with a remix of Buy it Out, and we see J Molley, Youngstacpt, Frank Casino, Stilo Magolide, KLY, Da L.E.S bringing all the guns out with heavy verses. Funny enough the song simply discourages peeps to stop shopping at Malls, but that’s a discussion for another day.

Well if you haven’t played the project, stream it below:
