Not so long ago PUMA broke into the dad shoe trend with their latest Thunder silhouette, and for us, this could be the best chunky sneaker for 2018.
And for those who just tuned into the dad shoe trend, it is not something new but has long existed and with fashion transition, the trend has been restored.
The Thunder silhouette is a bit of a throwback to the 90’s as PUMA has a huge history and back catalogue of sneakers, and they tapped into that for this shoe hence the chunky big sole to help the shoe stand out.
Out of all the chunky sneakers we’ve seen, these top the list, especially how the shoe looks in terms of material mixes, and even though it might look bulky it is extremely lightweight and comfortable on the feet.
Now on to the next one, PUMA introduces the latest drop in the Thunder range – the Thunder Electric, which will release in two colourways.
The Thunder Electric design “reflects the electrifying power of lightning”.
Both shoes feature an exaggerated design decked in nubuck leather and mesh overlays, hot sparks of colour and flashes of chrome. Completing the design is a Black PUMA form strip along the sides atop a moulded TPU midsole.
Look out for the PUMA Thunder Electric to release on Thursday, 21 June 2018 in two colourways (PUMA White/PUMA Black /Mandarine Red and Grey Violet/PUMA/ Black/ Quiet Shade) for the retail price of R2299 at:
- PUMA stores (Gateway, Rosebank, Sandton City and V&A Waterfront)
- PUMA SELECT stores (Joburg and Cape Town)
- Shelflife (Joburg and Cape Town)
