A special one-night event to raise funding to fight COVID-19.

Local stars Black Coffee, Cassper Nyovest, Sho Madjozi and Nomzamo Mbatha will be part of the ‘One World: Together At Home’, a special one-night event to raise awareness and generate crucial funding to bolster the global battle to eliminate COVID-19.

Global Citizen and the World Health Organization are partnering for the star-studded show and will feature many of the world’s biggest artists.

One World: Together at Home, which follows on from the success of the digital series of the same name, aims to celebrate the heroic efforts of community health workers and support the World Health Organization (WHO) in the fight to end the pandemic.

Curated by Lady Gaga, the event will feature exclusive appearances by Black Coffee, Cassper Nyovest, Sho Madjozi, Nomzamo Mbatha, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Burna Boy, Chris Martin, David Beckham, Eddie Vedder, Elton John, FINNEAS, Idris and Sabrina Elba, J Balvin, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Kerry Washington, Lang Lang, Lizzo, Maluma, Paul McCartney, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Shah Rukh Khan and Stevie Wonder.

The two-hour programme will be hosted by a trio of US late night hosts: Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert and will include performances from the world’s biggest artists with multimillion-dollar pledges to the WHO’s Solidarity Response Fund.

The show will lift viewers’ spirits with exclusive cameos from the world of music and arts, sports superstars, and comedic sketches, with the core purpose being to educate and inform on COVID-19 risks, prevention and response.

The broadcast will feature interviews with experts from the WHO as well as stories of frontline healthcare workers from around the world – their courage and sacrifice a reminder of the urgency of this moment.

The show will stream live on globalcitizen.org/togetherathome on Saturday, 18 April 2020, and will air on E! (DStv Channel 124) at 6pm CAT on Sunday, 19 April.
