One of South Africa’s leading entertainment companies ZAR Empire through its Zimbabwean subsidiary ZAR Ent will on May 27 spoil Zimbabweans with a festival which will feature multi-award winning American musicians Timbaland, Fat Joe, Ciara, Lil Kim and DJ Scratch.
The stars are billed to perform in Harare on May 27 at Borrowdale Racecourse at an event which has been dubbed the “Zarfest”. The event will be part of ZAR’s birthday celebrations as they are celebrating their first anniversary and their online launch.
Besides Zimbabwe, the international stars will perform in Cape Town at the Convention Centre on June 2 and at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg on June 3.

The final show, dubbed the ZAR Birthday Concert, will be held on June 4 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. South Africa’s Big Nuz, Fisherman, L’vovo Derrango, Spectacular, Fistaz Mixwell, Zakes Bantwini, Mahoota VS Vetkoek, C Live, Euphonik, Mo Flava, Gareth Cliff, Glen Lewis, and DJ’s Kent, Tira, Fresh and Tumza are the artistes who will perform with the international artistes in South Africa. For the Zimbabwean show, ZAR will be supported by Bass & Styles and NR Ent. Zimbabwean DJ T-Bass said ZAR’s tour to Zimbabwe was going to serve as an announcement to Zimbabweans.

“The ZAR management has plans to open a ZAR club in Zimbabwe similar to the one in Sandton, South Africa. The Zarfest will serve as an announcement of their coming to Zimbabwe,” said DJ T-Bass.
He added that preparations for the Zarfest were at an advanced stage with the tickets expected to be sold to the public on Wednesday.

The tickets will be available at Nando’s Avondale, Chisipite, Marimba and Newlands outlets. The ordinary tickets have been pegged at $50 with the inner circle costing $100. Kenny Kunene, a well-known South African businessman and owner of ZAR club who is popularly known as Mr Sushy, said they had invited the international artistes to tour Africa and help celebrate ZAR Online’s first birthday.
“Timbaland will be touring Zimbabwe and South Africa with us to celebrate our birthday at the end of May. There will be a host of great stars performing with him who include Ciara, Fat Joe and Lil’ Kim. So get your lighters ready,” said Kunene.
He added: “The crew has agreed to spend a week in Mzansi but their first show will be in Harare. So, instead of the usual whirlwind tour, they will be spending time with the ZAR family to get to know Africa and its people.
They are going to rock us all in Johannesburg, Durban, Nelspruit and Harare. Other venues may be added though,” said Kunene.
