Shelter Music presents The Kaya FM Platinum Hour– experience sexy urban grooves compiled by Kaya FM’s music manager Mesia Gumede. Since the inception of ‘The Platinum Hour’ as part of the stations Sunday programming, Kaya FM placed its finger on the pulse of its stations enthusiasts and found that it moved to the beat of a new and exciting rhythm; one that deserved a compilation designed to induce total satisfaction.

On this compilation Kaya FM showcases a perfect blend of jazz and soul infused beats from every corner of our musical world. The Platinum Hour elevates ones spirit from the moment you press play, as it commences with a Ralf GUM interpretation of Andy Compton’s (Peng Records) ‘Above The Sky’ featuring vocal and trumpet extraordinaire Kafele Bandele. It is fluently followed by an inspirational offering by Nadirah Shakoor titled ‘Just A Breath Away’. Notable titles include the magical Freedom U Heirs Vox Mix of the Elements of Life’s ‘Ma Mi Mama’ with Anane Vega. A timeless jazzy house classic ‘Spiyanko’ originally produced by SA legend Mandla Spikiri and the internationally acclaimed Hugh Masekela is masterfully reinterpreted by Louie Vega. The vocally enthused – Lower Wacker Drive Re Touch – of ‘What A Poor Boy Wants’ by estimated soulful house producer Vick Lavender and the original mix of Reel People and Tony Momrelles’ ‘Star’.

It also includes musical works by South Africa’s iconic Jazz musician Jimmy Dludlu and offerings from the world finest soulful and tribal house music producers including Boddhi Satva, Josh Milan, Lusito Quintero, Reel People and the Grammy Award winning Louie Vega.
