‘Sgudi ‘Snaysi was a long-running South African television comedy series. Made by Penguin Films and broadcast on SABC, it achieved the highest audience ratings ever for any SABC show in its time, and still appeals to the generation of yester-year and now! When the show re-appears on our screens.

The series starred the late Daphne Hlomuka as Sis’ May, a middle-aged woman living in Soweto; Gloria Mudau as Louise, Sis’ May’s neighbour; Thembi Mtshali as Thoko, Sis’ May’s niece; and Joe Mafela as S’dumo an unemployed man who comes to lodge with ‘Sis May. In the late 1980s and early 1990s ‘Sgudi ‘Snaysi’ consistently achieved SABC’s highest viewing figures, becoming the most popular television series in South Africa.
For some great family viewing and humour, viewers will be spoilt once again with the re-runs of the show. We will further update on any news regarding S’gudi S’naysi . . . keep watching SABC1 – Mzansi Fo Sho
