Channel O to air 2011 Billboard Music Awards

Channel O has secured the rights to air the 2011 Billboard Music Awards and will be airing them on Wednesday, 29 June at 20h30.

The ceremony, which we’ve never seen on the box in South Africa before, took place in Las Vegas last month (on 22 May) and was hosted by comedian, actor and physician Ken Jeong, who’s also popularly known as Dr Ken.

The show includes performances by Rihanna feat. Britney Spears, Beyoncé (ho received the Millenium tribute Award), Lady Antebellum, Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj and Neil Diamond, who received the Icon Award.

The awards recognize the most popular artists and albums from 2010 in a ton of categories – 49 in total.
