Reporting to the Manager: Values Campaign your key performance areas will include:
Log and digitise footage to the edit suite
Research and discuss story ideas
Assist Camera Operator when necessary
View programmes and write reports
Fax, copy and file documents
General ad hoc duties requested by Manager and department
Requirements:
Good knowledge of television and movies
Studying towards a television and film degree majoring in editing, preferably final year
Microsoft Office
Knowledgeable in Final Cut Pro
The candidate must be flexible; required to work shifts and evenings

SPORTS REPORTER: e.Sat (Johannesburg Newsroom)
Reporting to the Executive Producer: Sport your key performance areas include:
Arrange and prepare for interviews
Brief cameraman and interviewee on topic beforehand
Check archives for specific identified news items
Check electronic media (wires), articles of interest in newspapers and study oversees media
Conduct preliminary telephonic and follow-up probing interviews
Direct editor to cut pictures according to storyline, editing pictures and notes
Identify stories through research, sourcing and networking
Screen functions, events for possible newsworthy items
Write final copy of news bulletin
Lay voice on tape and present on camera
Conduct live crossings
Requirements:
At least 3 years broadcasting experience
Good general sports knowledge, thorough understanding of South African sport and players/officials involved as well as international sport
Working knowledge of quality of visuals and scripts
Ability to identify sources and network
A developed culture of reading and sports news sense
Ability to develop story ideas
A team player and work well with camera operators
Work to strict deadlines and display initiative
Good command of the English language
Good probing and presentation skills
Note:

Ensure that edited story is of a broadcast standard
File out story archive form upon completion

Develop a wide base of contacts
Requirements:
At least a three year diplomat / degree in Journalism
At least 3 years experience as a field reporter
Good general knowledge, thorough understanding of South African politics and players involved
Working knowledge of quality of visuals and scripts
Ability to execute PTC / live crossing / telephone hybrid
Ability to identify sources and network
Ability to write a script.
A developed culture of reading and news sense

write copy for on-air promos, billboards, prints ads and/or ad hoc promotional material
capable to take on campaigns with multi-element tasks – to see the process through from beginning to end
proof all promotional material
direct voiceover artists
develop creative ideas and concepts, often in partnership with the creative team
keep up to date with popular culture and trends
Requirements:
3-4 years experience
excellent command of the English language as well as sound spelling and grammar skills
experience in voice over direction and/or have worked in a voice studio
understand the different language styles for various target markets
exceptionally strong conceptual thinker

Reporting to the HOD: Technical Operations, News your key performance areas will include:
Day-to-day management of studio lighting and staff
Design and production (pre and post) in all aspects of lighting for studio and studio related productions and outside broadcasts
Create and maintain of quality lighting productions for e.tv/e.sat
Oversee the work quality of the Vision Control/Lighting ops in different studios as well as the storeman/rigger
Manage and maintain lighting stock and gear as well as the ordering process of stock as prescribed by the station manager and the company
Advise other management in relation to lighting of new and or existing productions
Work closely together with management structures of productions such as producers, line-producers, production staff and other HOD’s
Ensure that the staff has the adequate skills and tools to execute their tasks
Ensure skills transfer and adequate training for staff
Ensure that lighting meets broadcasting standards
Attend of production meetings, conferences etc.
Responsible for the staff motivation in lighting department
Requirements:
At least 5 years Lighting Director experience in television
Understanding of broadcasting environment, television language and role players
Ability to work with management, crew, and, artists
In-depth knowledge of the principals of lighting in a broadcast environment
In-depth technical knowledge of broadcast standards, specifications and equipment as well as post production
In-depth knowledge of light measuring equipment i.e. light meters, vector scopes and waveform monitors etc
Computer literate: MS Word and Excel
Ability to troubleshoot and take direction
Good colour and vision coordination
Ability to load, program and operate all lighting control units
Ability to work without supervision and take responsibility of decisions made
Ability to work under pressure and problem solve
Sound oral/written communication
Good command of the English language

Ability to work in live or pre-record environment
