For the past three years comedians from all over the world have entertained over 60,000 fans at the annual Nando’s Jozi Comedy Festival. That is big. Peri-peri big. In fact, it is part of the biggest trio of festivals on the African continent.

Comedy fans can catch seven of the best straight-up stand-up acts on offer every night from the 22nd of July until the 31st of July with two extra late night spicy shows added on Friday the 29th and Saturday the 30th of July.
Another favourite part of the festival that will remain on the bill is the very popular local stand-up competition called “Comedy Showdown” hosted at Parkers Comedy & Jive. See contestants fight it out on-stage during the ‘heats’ with nothing more than their quick wit, a mic, and a burning desire to become the newest comedy hero of the festival. The winner of this annual-search-for-SA’s-new stand-up-star will get the chance to perform alongside the international comedy heavy weights for the duration of the festival run.
With international acts like Mark Curry (from Hangin’ With Mr Cooper Fame), Dave Thornton and Dan Cummins to name but a few – you have to be out of your head not to want to come and laugh it off at the 2011 Nando’s Jozi Comedy Festival.
