The new flagship BlackBerry smartphone is due to launch in SA soon – Vodacom, 8ta, and Virgin Mobile reveal their plans. Vodacom’s executive head of corporate communications, Nomsa Thusi, said that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 will be available from participating Vodacom outlets from 7 September 2011 at a recommended retail price of R7,694 (incl. VAT) on prepaid.

It will also be available on the BlackBerry Talk 100 contract for R449 per month for 24 months, Thusi said.

8.ta said that they will launch the BlackBerry Bold 9900 towards the end of September 2011, but said that pricing and the exact launch date “will be communicated in due course.”
