Summary: Amazon’s Appstore for Android devices is becoming available outside the United States, and has been confirmed to be working in South Africa.
The Amazon Appstore for Android, previously only available in the United States, has started making its apps available to international users according to user reports from around the world.
According to a post by Android Police citing The Digital Reader, Amazon seems to have made the apps in its store available to the rest of the world on the sly.
On top of that, Android Police reported that Amazon provided the following comment when asked about the apparent launch: “Thanks for reaching out. We have not announced any plans for international expansion.”
The Amazon Appstore for Android page still says that the Appstore is available only to its customers in the US.
