Lil Wayne supporting bill competition for local Musicians and Singers

New entry details for local musicians and artists to win a chance to perform on Lil Wayne supporting bill.

In their continued effort to support South African musicians Canoc Productions launched the Lil Wayne supporting act competition last week for both established and up and upcoming artists. The competition is a once in a lifetime opportunity for local musicians, DJ’s, dancers and bands to perform at one of the Lil Wayne concerts in each city including Cape Town on 7 December 2011, Johannesburg on 9 and 10 December 2011 and Durban on 11 and 12 December 2011.

Due to an unanticipated response to the competition the entry website has been unable to accommodate the volume of entries. “The listenwithcare.co.za site is a unique tool for musicians and we are not willing to compromise on quality for our local acts,” says Canoc Managing Director, Pleasure Letsoalo. “While we are securing suitable platforms to host this site for future projects, we have devised an immediate alternate suitable strategy that enables us to run the competition and we encourage participants to now enter via the Listen with Care Facebook page.”

The new five step process of how artists can stand a chance to perform at either of the Lil Wayne concerts is simple. Firstly, post your artist profiles, video and or song on the Listen with Care Facebook page, then indicate the city you would like to perform in; either Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. Entrants may only choose one city. Thereafter, share and or tag the post with your fans and friends and ask them to like and follow your post. Most importantly, Facebook “likes” act as votes so the more “likes” you get, the closer you are to performing at the chosen concert. Votes are tallied daily and the top ten entrants announced on the Facebook page.

Due to time constraints and delays there will only be one winner per venue. The closing date for the competition is 4 December 2011. “We would like to apologise to musicians and artists for the convenience and also thank everyone who gave support to this proud initiative.” added Letsoalo.
