SABC3 have secured the exclusive broadcast rights to Adele’s Live At The Royal Albert Hall concert which will be broadcast on New Year’s Eve at 20:30.
“SABC3 saw this as a fantastic opportunity to keep our audiences entertained on News Year’s Eve by broadcasting one of the greatest concerts in 2011. This is a must-see concert, Adele is a great artist; her ability to capture the audience is so amazing! We will also be giving away 20 Artist of the Year hampers to lucky viewers,” said Risuna Mayimele, SABC3 marketing manager.

2011 has been an incredible year for Adele, starting with her #1 album 21, her #1 single ‘Someone Like You’, the global smash ‘Rolling In The Deep’ and her spellbinding live appearance on The Brits. 21 has become the biggest selling album in the world this year – 13-million copies sold worldwide and counting (over 200 000 in South Africa) – and 21 and 19 remain the UK’s first and second highest selling albums.
She has received rave reviews for her live shows and Live At The Royal Albert Hall, recorded on 22 September at the Royal Albert Hall in London was a dream come true moment for Adele, and a highlight of her record-breaking year with the album 21. This concert showcases exactly why Adele has become one of the most sought after live performers in the world.
This concert features a mix of her 19 and 21 album hits. The concert was directed by Paul Dugdale, who has worked with acts including Florence and the Machine and The Prodigy.
