As we reported last week, that kwaito singer Mshoza was in hospital after she allegedly tried to end her life by taking a large amount of pills.

Yes, it is true that Mshoza was admitted at the Life Cosmos Private Hospital in Witbank, but she denies the rumours that she ever tried to kill herself. She told the City Press in an interview on Friday.

According to family spokesperson Alex Matsimane, a close friend of Mnisi’s, “we still don’t know why she tried to kill herself”.

Mshoza woke up on Tuesday “dazed and confused because even she didn’t know what had happened or where she was”.

Matsimane said they were given strict instructions by doctors “not to allow her to talk about the incident” until she had seen a clinical psychologist.

By Thursday when City Press went to Witbank, she was out of danger. “But due to the dose and type of pills she had consumed, her kidneys were affected and she had low blood pressure,” said Matsimane.

Mshoza told City Press on Friday she was waiting to be discharged and that she was “feeling good”.

“I’m ready to go home. My fans should keep the spirit. Mshoza is not dying any time soon. She’s living to entertain you.”
