Playboy South Africa have revealed their disappointment following Bonang Matheba‘s decision to reject their advances for a nude shoot.
Matheba, who has been the subject of raunchy photoshoots in the past, turned down the proposal straight away much to the bewilderment of Playboy editor Charl du Plessis.
Du Plessis told TimesLIVE: “We found it strange and surprising because, if memory serves, she’s done some topless shoots before.”
Of her appearance in FHM not so long ago, Du Plessis added: “We find FHM to be rather disrespectful to women. We think we’re far more sophisticated in our representation of women.”
Meanwhile, Matheba’s management team have hit out at Playboy, insisting that there simply isn’t enough time for their star to fulfill every proposal that comes her way.
Shiri Reouveni said: “We already have our plan in place for the first quarter of the year and at this point we have had to decline the opportunity.
“At the beginning of each year we put an objectives and strategy plan together as to her publicity targets, and we feel that doing too many front covers would result in her being over-exposed.”
