SABC3’s soap Isidingo, now comes with subtitles since last week Wednesday, 14 March to cater for the deaf community.
“SABC3 has supported the deaf community in South Africa in a significant way over the past years through DTV, the popular programme made by and for the deaf. The community is very important to the SABC and to the channel in particular and so it gives us real pleasure in being able to provide ‘wall to wall’ subtitling on Isidingo from this week on. Our hope is that it will enhance the viewing pleasure of the community and grant them full access to South Africa’s most popular soapie,” says Ed Worster, SABC3 acting general manager.
