Thandiswa Mazwai will perform at the Joburg Promusica Theatre on 13 and 14 April.
The acclaimed singer, who returns to South Africa after a brief stint in the UK, will be backed by bass-maestro Herbie Tsoaeli. The concerts are part of the Joburg Promusica Theatre’s ‘African Concert Series’ which was launched in November 2011.
Mazwai, one of the most influential South African musicians today, plays traditional Xhosa rhythms, upbeat Mbaqanga, reggae, thumping Kwaito, funk and jazz.
