SABC2 will be rebranding TV channel’s on-air look which will include completely new colours, new theme music, and the brand-new slogan of “We Belong” which will be replacing SABC2’s longrunning “Feel at Home” from 1 July.
SABC2’s Lebo Malete said, “The station hasn’t done a rebranding exercise in a few years and we are excited about how the station will look. Instead of doing the usual still photos as promos we are using video promos. We are the first station in the country to do this. It’s a new and visually appealing concept,” he explained.
“The new slogan is ‘We belong’. We are saying to all South Africans that, SABC2 is where you belong. We felt like superstars when we were shooting the promo videos…the hair, the make up and the wardrobe were all so exciting. We look forward to seeing how it will look when it all comes together on screen,”.
Malete said they are not just using one color to identify the station but an array of colours. “We believe that SABC2 is a family channel where every South African belongs, regardless of race, age or language. So the colours we have selected reflect everyone,” he says.
The station’s shows like Muvhango, Noot vir Noot, Motswako, 7de Laan and Streets of Mangaung are all going to get a revamp as part of the rebranding and the stars of the shows are excited.
The new look SABC2 will be on our screens beginning of July.
