TKZee member Tokollo Tshabalala, better known as ‘Magesh’, is planning a comeback to music.
He has recorded a new album titled ‘Heist’ which is being released by Heist Entertainment – which he co-owns.
“I have worked with a lot of people and all of them had the same intention, to produce a ‘Magesh symbol’ that reflects my taste in music but also the growth as an artist,”
he told Sowetan.
“In the album I featured Zwai Bala, Mandla Spikiri, Professor, Amanda and MaCasket. We had fun in the studio during the eight months of [the] project,” he added.
He said that the album title is a reflection of himself.
“I am not good at expressing love in person, but with music I can be at my most perfection. It’s a heist for the love of music,” he explained.
“People will confess to that as soon as they hear it.”
His first single off the album is called ‘Sgub sam’ and he describes it as track which will remind his fans of old TKZee songs.
He says the track paved the way for the rest of the album.
The kwaito singer’s personal life was thrown into upheaval when he was charged with culpable homicide for allegedly killing two people in a car accident in Botswana. He was acquitted in 2008.
