The 11th edition of the highly successful Amstel Golden Hour series of concerts will be recognising the passion for both Kwaito and Hip Hop in the Mbombela region through the fusion of these sister genres at the upcoming festival. “Nelspruit for us is like going home and we love performing for the incredibly passionate Kwaito fans. Thanks to Amstel, we are performing in collaboration with Khuli Chana and a live band and it’s going to literally blow the fans away.  We can’t wait to get out there and do our thing.” says Zwai Bala of the upcoming performance.

Proving that SA music just gets better with Amstel, numerous performing artists have provided incredible experiences for the fans of SA.  The one off unexpected collaborations have stunned audiences and resulted in conversations that carried on long after the performance.  Most recently, Motswako legend HHP put in the time to rehearse and perform with a 30 strong choir and delivered a performance that had the crowd at the DRUMBeat Festival in ‘a motswako trance’ as described by blogger and entertainment commentator MaBlerh.

TKZee will be taking the time to rehearse with a live band and Khuli Chana in the weeks leading up to the Amstel Golden Hour, ensuring festival goers experience a truly enjoyable performance. “Amstel is committed to SA music, and as a premium beer we are proud to be showcasing the best musical talent the industry has to offer,” says Diederik Vos, Marketing Manager for Amstel. He continues to say, “Fans of Kwaito and Hip Hop are in for a treat in Mbombela, and we look forward to presenting this incredible collaboration to them.”

Kwaito is a proudly South African musical genre, and it will be showcased against the backdrop of a collaboration with traditional Hip Hop and a live band.  When TKZee and Khuli Chana perform on July 28th, fans are sure to experience how much better SA music gets when it’s on the Amstel Golden Hour stage.
