ProVerb has just a signed a multi album deal with Universal Music Group, and will be releasing his new album, FourthWrite, through the Music label. This move comes as a surprise to many as ProVerb previously stated that he would be releasing the album independently.

Entertainer, Presenter and Idols co producer, Proverb, has just inked a multi album deal with Universal Music Group in Johannesburg. Proverb’s first full length album in 3 years will be released in Spring through UMG and is titled “FourthWrite”.
Proverb explains,“It’s been 3 years since my last full album and my new strategy as an independent artist, was to release singles and distribute digitally. After a few successful singles and an increasing demand for a full album I had to rethink my strategy. “
When asked why he has taken so long to produce his next full length album, he said,“I took my time to craft a masterpiece and once completed, my team and I had to find a home for it.”
The man in charge of A&R, Executive Director Lindelani Mkhize said, “We welcome Proverb to the Universal Family. Over the years, he has been consistent in delivering quality and he has an amazing work ethic which are qualities we pride ourselves on and appreciate in
others. We are also happy that there is a meeting of minds and that he is also excited by the opportunities that this partnership brings.”
Proverb goes on to explain why he chose Universal Music, “We did extensive research and explored all our options and Universal Music is without question the most exiting partnership. The team is energized and inspired and ready to run with this album
maximizing all opportunities and exploring all avenues. The open door policy was the 1st good impression made on me and the sheer desire expressed by Universal Music to have us on their books made discussions a breeze. “
Proverb ended by saying,”All formalities have been concluded, and the time has come, to give the world my latest offering “FourthWrite”
