Fans of Afropop sensation Mafikizolo, are in for a treat when Theo Kgosinkwe and Nhlanhla Nciza perform during the Amstel Golden Hour at the upcoming Tribute Concert at Moretele Park, Pretoria on Saturday September 1st.
The duo are due to release a brand new studio album in the coming weeks and thanks to Amstel, fans of the super group will be treated to an exclusive preview of some of their new tracks supported by an electrifying audio-visual on-stage performance.
The performance by Mafikizolo will be part of the 12th edition of the highly successful Amstel Golden Hour series of productions, and recognises the popularity of the duo in the area. “This new album will be our first since we launched the highly acclaimed Six Mabone in November 2008, and we are truly excited about it. Thanks to Amstel’s huge support for SA Music, we can’t wait to give our huge fan base in the Tshwane area a sneak preview of what to expect from our new album.” says Nciza of the upcoming performance. “It’s been a while since we performed live for our fans, and they should get ready for an incredible Mafikizolo performance and show during the Amstel Golden Hour”, adds Kgosinkwe.
Most recently, the Amstel Golden Hour series of performances held up to the promise that SA music just gets better with Amstel when TKZee enthralled the crowds during the Mbombela Music Festival in July. The collaboration with a string and wind instruments section, coupled with the world class lighting and sound had the fans screaming for more.
