It is that time of the year; the Annual Buyel’ekhaya Music Festival is back yet again and it’s even bigger and better than the previous years.
This year it will be hosted at Absa Stadium, East London, Eastern Cape on the 15th of December 2012.
Buyel’ekhaya meaning “Go Back Home” is an annual event that takes place every December in the Eastern Cape and it encourages people to go back home during this festive season period to celebrate festivities with family and friends. This concept promotes tourism, empowers local businesses, creates jobs, focuses local on economic development and supports both local and African artists.
The festival producers decided to go bigger this year as there has been a lot of demand and support from the Eastern Cape, other provinces and the African Continent as a whole. The festival has expanded and there will be more activities and entertainment added onto the Festival itinerary. There will be more than 1 Blitz to be hosted by different celebrities taking place in more local areas, Exhibitions showcasing crafters, traditional artists, and cultural dancers. And closing off, the After-party, to be hosted by some of the most well-known DJs and artists.
Buyel’ekhaya will in partnership with UMhlobo Wenene and Tru-Fm and Hansa Pilsner, kick off with a Blitz, travelling with celebrities; artists, TV presenters, radio DJs, and actors and actresses – they will be visiting different locations including Amalinda, Zwelitsha, Mdantsane and there are prizes to be won on the blitz campaign.
Exhibitions are a great way to attract tourists, support local business! Be entertained by NdingaJohwa (of Botswana),be surrounded by crafters, experience cultural dancers, and local DJs at the Beachfront.

Then the big event’s line up includes International artists, well-known artists and local artists in the Eastern Cape. Lastly, the after-party on the 16th of December to be hosted by DJ Fresh and L’vovo at Numbers.
