SABC2 is to bring back the new season of the successful consumer rights show, Speak Out. Speak Out begins on Thursday, 14 March at 21:30.
The new season comes with a new presenter in the form of actor, businessman Dingaan Mokebe popular known as James Motsamai on SABC2’s soapie, Muvhango. He will be replacing, Duncan Senye and Vuyelwa Booi, who have left the show.
Speak Out is an investigative reality show that assists many viewers and consumers who have been scammed, ‘taken for a ride’, or robbed out of their hard-earned money by bad service, substandard goods, dishonest business practices or exorbitant charges. This consumer show plays the role of a ‘watchdog’, ensuring a fair outcome for the consumer and reminding the public to be more cautious in their purchases and everyday dealings with business and retailers.
The show travels all over the country engaging disgruntled consumers. It also educates consumers about their rights and businesses, and about their responsibilities towards their customers.
“A consumer comes to Speak Out because they have nowhere else to go; they have exhausted all their means and Speak Out is their last hope. This current Speak Out is brave, factual, truthful, trustworthy, and helpful. The show opens the doors that have been closed for the complainant; it leaves no stone unturned in its efforts to ensure the consumer is given a just and fair resolution. We go after the wrong doers who prey on ignorant consumers. Dingaan Mokebe will be the voice to the voiceless in correcting all the wrongdoings,” said Lebo Malete, SABC2 Publicity.
