You could be the opening act for East Coast Radio’s Durban Day.

You could be performing in front of over 10 000 people; performing your songs, your set, together with a stellar line-up of South Africa’s top artists. You could… Be The Band.

If you are a band, a solo performer or just love to sing, then East Cost Radio is looking for you to be the opening act at this year’s Durban Day in September.

All they need from you is a track that you’ve recorded. Send them a link to your track on SoundCloud, or share a dropbox link or even a YouTube link, and they could be calling you to perform at this year’s Mr. Price Pro Music concert.

If you’re successful at winning a public vote, you could be the opening act at this year’s Durban Day.

Got what it takes? Then send an email (durbanday@ecr.co.za) with a link to your song. Remember to include your contact details.

Usual T’s and C’s apply and note the following:

  • Be the Band is an initiative of East Coast Radio.
  • The competition is open to all music performers, bands, and solo artists.
  • To enter, please submit a link to your best track (which must be downloadable by East Coast Radio) through dropbox, or SoundCloud. This link can be sent via email or put in the entry field below
  • Performers will need to be able to perform live on stage at one of the Mr. Price Pro music concerts on the 5th, 6th or 7th of July. Date and time to be confirmed closer to the event.
  • Performers will need to be able to do a live set of not less than three songs, this can include cover versions.
  • A voting process will take place of the three performers selected to play at the Mr. Price Pro music concert, and a winner will be selected from a popular vote from all voting platforms.
  • The “Be the Band” winner will be announced by the end of July 2013 and will be the opening act to East Coast Radio’s Durban Day on the 8th of September.

The winner will receive promotional elements to this, and perform alongside some of South Africa’s top artists.
