Joining the new hosts for season six of the popular dance franchise, and the first season on SABC3, is a brand new judging panel of Michael Wentink, Tebogo Kgobokoe and Samantha Peo.
Renowned funny man Marc Lottering needs little introduction to South African audiences. A regular feature in line-ups for live comedy festivals, he has kept audiences in stitches across the country for the past 15 years. His extensive experience in television and theatre has earned him several prestigious awards and he continues to play to packed houses all over the country.
His co-host, the affable Pabi Moloi has been a familiar face on South African television screens and stage, along with a successful radio career, for over two decades.
“We are very thrilled with the calibre of hosts and judges for the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing, which makes its debut on SABC3 this July. This brand new team brings a wealth of experience and expertise to what is an enormously successful and exciting TV show. The show will air from 20:00 to 22:00 on Wednesdays with a 10 minute break to allow for voting. The results will be announced on the same evening,”
said SABC3’s marketing manager, Risuna Mayimele
Leading the star studded judging panel will be Michael Wentink, the world renowned international adjudicator, lecturer, instructor, and Strictly Come Dancing first season winner. Wentink is also the undefeated World Latin American Dance Champion.
Tebogo Kgobokoe has extensive dance experience having been a finalist in the World Latin Professional show dance competition. She has also choreographed for some of the biggest television shows in South Africa, including So You Think You Can Dance and Superdance South Africa among others.
Dancer, singer, actress and performer, Samantha Peo worked with some of the best directors and choreographers both locally and internationally, including the Broadway choreographers for West Side Story and Chicago. She has also achieved great success in her career, having won both the Naledi Award and the Fleur Du Cap Awards for her performance in Cabaret.
The ten celebrity contestants and their dance partners will be announced in early July. Previous celebrity winners of Strictly Come Dancing include Rob van Vuuren, Emmanuel Castis, HHP, Zuraida Jardine and Riaan Venter.
Strictly Come Dancing will air from Wednesday, 10 July at 20:00 on SABC3.
