Dj Shimza’s One Man Show is a charity event that takes place on Christmas day in Tembisa, the event starts off during the day where orphans from homes around Tembisa are pampered with a Christmas experience by being provided with a proper Christmas lunch, gifts and many games for them to partake in. Later on this initiative turn into a musical festival where Dj Shimza plays alone the whole night and gets performing artists to perform for the masses.
We managed to have a chat with DJ Shimza to tell us what’s in-store for this year’s show.
– How long has your Christmas Charity event #OMS been going on?
It’s in its 5th year now.
– How important is it for you to do this Christmas Charity event annually?
It is very important to me because it’s something I started and I know that there are kids with no families to spend Christmas with so I can take my time to chill with them then later raise some funds for them to go to school the next year in new uniform and proper school stationery.
– How has DJ Shimza as a brand made an influence on Christmas Charity event?
People now know that it’s not all about taking but you must also give back.
– You choose Tembisa as main venue: is it coz its your hometown?
Yes, charity begins at home 🙂
– Who are other major sponsors who are on board to make this years’s edition a success?

None, keeping it local 🙂

– What makes this years event difference from the past one’s
I have invested more in the production and logistics of the event and I’m adding more beneficiaries to it.
– What are important factors that audience/fans should be aware of?
No under 18s allowed, coolers allowed but no bottles, cans only, tickets going on sale from the 1st of November.
