Excitement is building up in the Tesive Group corner as audition dates draw closer for round one of
an event that will soon be on the lips of young ladies within Gauteng, as Tesive Group hosts the
inaugural staging of the first annual Gauteng Youth Ambassador Pageant. The Main Event will be
taking place in the season of new beginnings during the month of September 2014, with the first
elimination round beginning in May 2014.
The pageant is the brain child of television personality, performing artist, business woman and
founding director of Tesive Group, Miss Kedebone Mkhabela, who is no stranger to our screens and
is known by many as the gorgeous former SABC 1 continuity presenter and current co-host of SABC
1 music show, Sunday Chillas. Coming from a pageant background herself, Miss Mkhabela feels it is
important to have a platform where we can discover future leaders and empower their journeys.
Kedebone was crowned 1st princess of Miss City Press in the year 2002 and has been heavily
involved in organising Miss Gezane, Miss KaBhokweni and various other pageants in Nelspruit, a
place she calls home.
“The aim of this event is to create an environment that will help our youth become better versions of themselves. We would like to use this pageant to fight the social ills that the youth face on a daily basis. Many successful women around the world have used beauty pageants as a stepping stone to something bigger and we want to continue building on that by making our own contribution, hence our slogan, ‘The Perfect Platform to Realise Your Dreams’.”, says Miss Mkhabela.
The pageant programme spans over a series of elimination rounds, with the first round taking place at the following venues: 3 May – SABC Radio Park M2 Studios in Auckland Park, 10 May – Pretoria State Theatre, 24 May – YMCA Soweto and 31 May – SABC Radio Park M2 Studios in Auckland Park.
The diverse panel of judges, consists of head judge, Kedebone Mkhabela who will be joined by co-host of Sunday Chillas, Kay Sibiya. Businessman and host of Making Moves, Siya Mdlalose and leading lady of the SABC1 sitcom, Single Girls, Zola Nombana. The judges will be looking for, a focused individual who meets the requirements, is responsible and exudes confidence, a humble nature, is bright, presentable and engaging, to name a few qualities.

1. Aspiring entrants will require a non refundable R100.00 registration fee to be brought on the day of audition, which will cover photographs.
2. Must be 18 years and not older than 24 years of age on December 2015.
3. A height of 1.65m or taller.
4. Must be based in Gauteng full time despite province of origin. 5. Must be in possession of a valid South African ID document or passport, Matric Certificate and/or Midyear school report or equivalent qualification. Copies of these documents must be brought on the day of audition. Only one entry form per entrant will be allowed.
