Afro-pop group Mafikizolo are setting the awards stage alight. The group was the biggest winner at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs)
Now they have received a nod for a BET award for Best International Act: Africa.
The duo have also been invited to perform at the upcoming awards in Los Angeles in America.
Mafikizolo have also been nominated for four MTV Africa awards, which will also be held next month at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in KZN.
Mafikizolo were nominated alongside Nigerian Davido, Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Sarkodie (Ghana), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), and Toofan of Togo for
Jay-Z and Beyonce are leading the BET nominations with 10 nods in the music category.
Nigerian-British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor and his 12 Years a Slave co-star Lupita Nyong’o also scored nominations in Best Actor and Best Actress categories respectively.
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday 29th June 2014 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, on June 29.
They will then premiere on BET International in Africa on 1 July at 9pm.
