The X Factor is a television music competition franchise created and produced by Simon Cowell. It originated in the UK and is now held in various countries around the world. The “X Factor” of the title refers to the un-definable “something” that makes for star quality…..
Now it’s South Africa’s turn to search, find and unleash the “X Factor” in Mzansi’s untapped talent!
The winner will walk away with a recording contract with Sony Music and R300 000.00 prize money at the grand finale in Durban on December 13.
OPEN AUDITIONS for The X Factor South Africa start on 7 June in cities around the country. The major audition events take place in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg and smaller auditions will take place in Bloemfontein, Polokwane, Nelspruit and Pietermaritzburg.
You can pre-register ONLINE for these auditions, which means you will be fast-tracked through the registration process at the audition venue.

“The X Factor South Africa” will be broadcast over 15 weeks – with seven pre-recorded shows covering all the drama of the auditions, boot camp and home visits and eight live gala shows from Durban.
