Kaizer Chiefs have officially announced the signing of Zimbabwean midfielder Ovidy Karuru and young KwaZulu Natal-born midfielder Phakamani Mngadi.
The Soweto giants confirmed the news on their official Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon: “Kaizer Chiefs is pleased to announce the signing of Ovidy Karuru on a 3-year deal previously of OH Leuven, Belgium.”
“Phakamani Mngadi has joined Kaizer Chiefs on a 11-month loan from K.A.S. Eupen, Belgium.”
Karuru has been with the AmaKhosi since the beginning of their pre-season training in June, and he featured in a number of friendly games for the Naturena side.
It was only a matter of time before he put pen to paper with Chiefs, after earning praise from coach Stuart Baxter, who spoke well of him in the media during his trail period.
Mngadi, a 19-year-old winger, was linked with Chiefs at the beginning of this week, and AmaKhosi have moved swiftly to acquire his signature on loan for next season.
