MTN has introduced new, high denomination internet bundles that offer out-of-bundle rates of 29c per MB and a 60 day validity period. Currently, the validity period for Internet bundles is capped at 30 days.
Larry Annetts, Chief Operating Officer: MTN South Africa, said that the introduction of these new bundles addresses their customers’ need to access the Internet at affordable rates.
For example, customers who purchase a 5MB bundle will receive 2.5MB of data free, valid for one day.
Subscribers who purchase a 50MB bundle will get free 25MB of data valid for three days. Customers who purchase the 3GB bundle will receive 3GB for free – the free data will be valid for a period of 30 days.
The 5MB Internet bundle will retail for R3. The new data bundles that MTN now offers include:
50MB, 3GB, 5GB, 10GB, and 20GB option.
These new data bundles will retail for
R19, R299, R399, R599, and R1,199 respectively.
