We had a chat with Euphonik about his new album “FOR THE LOVE OF HOUSE 6” and joining the Rocka family.
1. What inspired the FTLOF6 album and what inspired the timing to release this album at this moment? Its party time and festive season so every year around this time I drop what I look at as the sound track to summer of that year.
2. How long did the project take you to wrap-up?It’s been work in progress the whole year. The difficult part is deciding which tracks to include in the project as a lot of amazing music is released and made the whole year.
3. How would you describe the style of music on this album compared to the previous FTLOF releases? It’s crossover music that ranges from deep soulful house to banging electro. It’s Euphonik music.
4. When one listens to “Love High” which features Mpumi it brings some whole new sound, the solid message about love…What was the inspiration behind the song? & whyMpumi on the vocals? I always try to do different things and experiment with different sounds. Mpumi wrote the song and I felt the style she wrote the song in needed to be complimented with music that was also new and different.
5. Who are other producers or artists you’ve worked with on the album? and what inspired the selection of those certain featured artists? It’s what I think are the biggest records of that year. Music that occupies my DJ sets and music that I feel is timeless. I also like to expose new talent and if you listen to the project there’s a lot of that.
6. Every artist has that personal feel on his/her project, from this album what specific songs would you say are close to you heart? Every single song on the project is special. Like I said its not an easy task starting off with 60 odd tracks and having to come all the way down to the perfect 16. So what I do is I ask myself why with each and every song on the album.
8. You’ve also recently launched your ROCKA pair of headphones…How did you become part of ROCKA family? They approached me and I was keen but I wanted to do it differently to what they’d previously done and not only did I want to put my name on it but I also wanted to be hands on with the actual audio and packaging. It’s a great collaboration and I know it’s going to do big things.
9. What inspired the design of your pair? I like doing cool and different things that I feel others will enjoy. Also headphones are an important tool for DJs and I’ve always wanted to do something like this
10. Where and when can people be able to buy your ROCKA headphones? Currently they are available at Musica exclusively.
11. Future plans? In Business and music what more can we expect from Euphonik especially that we are stepping into thenew year in a few more days?Just loads of hard work and innovation.
