More Radio news….It has become a normal that radio experiences some changes in April every year. Ligwalagwala FM listeners can expect some changes to the programme line up mainly on the drive shows. There will be a couple of shifts and mergers aimed at bringing some flair into the on air offering of Mpumalanga’s leading radio station. The shift in talent has also necessitated an adjustment to the lengths of some shows. Listeners can however rest assured that all shows will retain their names.
Mornings will not be the same again on kusileMzansi, the breakfast show currently presented by the award winning DJ Madumane. Joining Madumane in the morning will be the multi talented radio and TV extraordinaire Mpumi Mbhethe. Mpumi moves from co-hosting the afternoon drive show (Asambe Drive Show) with Shabbisto to the breakfast show (KusileMzansi) with effect from the first of April 2015. KusileMzansi will now have a dedicated team that will also include Mancane and Shukuma Lukhele who will do the kiddies programme and sports bulletin respectively.
Mpumi’s shoes in the afternoon Drive show will be filled by the vibrant Nobuhle Ndlovu who moves from doing the weekly midnight slot. She will be Shabbisto’s new co-host on Asambe drive show every weekday from 3-6PM. Senzo Mashego will present the Sport bulletins.
Another exciting addition to the programme line up is that of a Hip hop hour. Something that a sizeable amount of the station’s listeners have been calling upon. Fortune Ntekati’s The Zone will now dedicate the hour of 18:00 – 19:00 every Saturday to hip hop.“We are repackaging the brand in line with consumers demands, the media space is evolving and the station is part of this evolution, these changes aim primarily at giving dominance to the voice of women during prime time and at the same time boost our listenership targets”said Mr Rio Mabunda, Ligwalagwala FM Station Manager.
Ligwalagwala FM turns 33 in April and there we have a mammoth music concert to celebrate this landmark in the growth of the SiSwati station. Much like the music offering on the station the birthday music concert will incorporate music performances of all genres from Hip Hop, Kwaito, House, Maskandi and Gospel music.Lucrative prizes on air will be the order of the month, listeners must stay glued to the station to find out more.
