We caught up with MiCasa lead singer – João da Fonseca known to many as J’Something. We had a chat with him about his new production company ‘Something’s Cool’ and some of his plans with this project.
– Would you say the cooking show “Something’s Cooking” opened doors for you especially in the industry?
OH yeah no doubt. It now has me cooking at Taste and doing my own cooking classes. Its absolutely nuts. Blessed. Its also opened up a whole new company which i co own now … Something’s Cool. You should check our site … www.somethingscool.com … its really cool … excuse the pun 🙂
-Individually what inspired the idea to step into the tv production field, more especially the business side of it?
The ability to share my creativity in other aspects. Im a dreamer. I think a lot. A come up with a lot of ideas. So this side of me is an extension of my natural creativeness.
– You’ve partnered with Dale Herbst who has been in the industry for years now, how did the 2 of you meet and the decision to establish ‘Something’s Cool.’?
We met at a coffee shop to discuss my cooking show idea. One thing let to another. We did the show. And after that we were like hold on a sec we have a good combination here. Im creative … he gets ish done … lets come together and create a powerhorse within TV … something we both passionate about. Its been incredible this far i must be honest. Let me tell you … Dale is a machine.
– Tell us about one your upcoming projects “The rich Kids”
It’s gonna be an interesting show. Its definitely opened up my eyes to some of the realities out there. Some people just have a LOT of dough. ITs beautifully shot and the content is rich.
Im also particularly excited about a show we did which has just hit the screens which is Your Perfect Sishebo. MAN WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SHOW … people are gonna love it I’m telling you! Mark my words 🙂
– Besides producing best broadcast shows, what more would you like to achieve with ‘Something’s Cool?
We wanna create a show that gets international recognition. Something HUGE. Also I am busy writing a comedy drama series which is going to be nothing short of brilliant 🙂
