The talent line-up at the Comedy Central International Comedy Festival just got even bigger as more stunning comedians and comedy gigs are added to the star-studded bill (26 November – 5 December).
Comedy greats joining the festival include funnyman David Kau, who joins the Best of Africa Gala alongside Churchill, Basketmouth, Carl Joshua Ncube and Salvado (The Globe on Saturday 5 December at 17:00 CAT).
Marc Lottering and Darren Simpson join the line-up for the International Gala, sharing the stage with previously announced comedy legends Aries Spears and Hannibal Buress (The Globe on Saturday 5 December at 20:00 CAT).
Musical prankster Deep Fried Man and Mo Mothebe join Simmi Areff for some raw and unfettered stand-up at the Late Night Comedy Show (Parker’s Comedy & Jive on Friday 4 December at 23:00 CAT).
Hannes Brümmer and Melt Sieberhagen add their own lekker brand of wit and wisdom to The Afrikaans Show alongside Schalk Bezuidenhout and Casper de Vries (20:00 CAT, Saturday 5 December, Parker’s Comedy & Jive). Schalk Bezuidenhout also makes an appearance at the Late Night Comedy Show later the same night alongside Yaaseen Barnes and Robby Collins (Parker’s Comedy & Jive on Saturday 5 December at 23:30 CAT).
Skhumba Hlophe and Smowkey Nyembe add their dulcet tones to the comedians populating The Vernac Show, alongside Celeste Ntuli and Jay Boogie (The Comedy Cube on Saturday 5 December at 20:00 CAT).
New additions to the festival programme include a Comedy and Magic special in which Ebenhaezer Dibakwane and Mo Magic will conjure up the laughs out of incredible magic tricks and sleights of hand (The Comedy Cube on Friday 4 December at 20:00 CAT).
In his second appearance at the festival, Darren Simpson hosts a royally entertaining edition of long-running comedy franchise Kings and Queens of Comedy, as SA comedy blubloods Eugene Khoza, Nina Hastie and Tracy Klaas hold court at Parker’s Comedy & Jive (Friday 4 December at 21:00 CAT).
More up and coming talent, in the shape of Khanyisa Bunu joins the cast of The Future alongside Mojak Lehoko, Snooze, Prins and Gavin Kelly (The Comedy Cube on Saturday 5 December at 22:30 CAT).
