Soul & RnB jock – Paul Mtirara has parted ways with SABC’s urban commercial radio station ; Metro FM. SABC terminated his contract due to a serious contractual contravention on his part, then later showed him the door, Sowetan reports. But the matter doesn’t end there, the report further states that Mtirara is suing the station for breach of contract.

Further report from Sowetan:
The bottom fell out for Mtirara when he returned from a business trip to the UK last month where he had been invited by Universal Music for three days to interview Babyface, the American R&B legend.

A source said that Mtirara called his producer to tell the station manager, Sibongile Mtyali, that he had to leave.

Mtirara is understood to have had a rocky relationship with Mtyali after an argument in a meeting at their offices.

Mtirara’s lawyer Graham Moshoana confirmed that they were instituting a lawsuit.

“My instructions are to sue. We believe that the SABC has breached the contract.

“We are going to the high court. Our first prize would be reinstatement or alternatively they would have to pay damages. He did not get a [verbal] warning or a letter, he got nothing.”

Mtirara dropped the phone when asked for comment.
