Da L.E.S has finally released his long anticipated project ‘North God’, titled after his nickname in the north god. The album dropped last week Friday and managed to debut on spot #1 on iTunes.
Before we get into music content, boss s/o to Les for a royal, clean and supreme album cover, definitely accommodates the album title. Just looking at the tracklist you can tell that this is a jam-packed series especially the list of featured artists. The albums opens with a stroking jam ‘Keys 2 The City’ , a more classic hip hop intro which features the Diva – Tamara Dey, this one reminds of the Rick Ross sound on ‘God Forgives I Don’t’.
Still on the introduction, the second track titled ‘Freak Nasty’ presents some old school elements fused with that retro Kwaito vibe and samples from Doc Shebelaza’s ‘Ebunandini’ and Alaska’s single ‘Zimbiri’. Popular singles that Da.LES has started the buildup of the album includes ‘PAID’ which features AKA and Burna, ‘Bank Roll’ featuring Kid X and Milkshake and the latest smash single ‘Summer Time’ featuring Riky Rick.
Two super Hot jams we can predict to blow up is ‘6am’ a collabo of Les, Ma-E and Moozlie and ‘Real Stuff’ featuring AKA and Maggz. All in all we have to applaud Les on this making this album worthy to the hip hop scene, with more matured sound. A must to add on you classic catalogue. Out of 10 I give it a phat 7,5.
