Microsoft Corp. has launched its official online store in South Africa, enabling South African customers to purchase any product from the company’s ecosystem of devices through the local Microsoft online store, www.microsoftstore.co.za.
The Microsoft online store boasts a broad assortment of original branded goods ranging from Lumia smartphones to Xbox consoles. In addition, the store features products from Microsoft’s partners to provide customers with even more choice whilst they are shopping for the perfect PC, tablet, game or smartphone to suit their needs and budget.
Further than that….
Microsoft South Africa has pulled the wraps off of its new Lumia 950 and 950 XL smartphones, which take advantage of powerful and versatile hardware to unlock novel Windows 10 experiences. These include fast and secured login with Windows Hello beta for Lumia, as well as Continuum for phones, which enables these mobile devices to work like PCs when connected to a screen.
The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are the first Lumia phones to come pre-loaded with Windows 10 – delivering on our promise of one familiar and consistent experience that transitions seamlessly across Windows devices from key apps like Office built-in to access to all your stuff via OneDrive and the cloud.
By utilising the Continuum capability for phones and connecting one of these Lumia smartphones to a monitor or the Microsoft Display Dock (HD-500), users will get to work with greater screen real estate. When users add a keyboard and mouse to that productivity equation, they will be able to work in the same manner as they do on a PC as apps such as Microsoft Office and Outlook scale up to create a big screen-optimised work environment that makes users more productive. In addition, users will still be able to take calls or performing other tasks whilst performing tasks in this mode.
Photographers and videographers will also love the Lumia 950 and 950 XL thanks to both features the latest-generation PureView cameras with 20-megapixel sensors, triple LED natural flash and 4K video capture capability. All of this technology equates to faster focus, crisper images and enhances videos even when snapping shots or recording video within challenging conditions like low lighting situations.
