2015 matriculants to suffer a massive setback with unemployment in SA

The 2015 matriculants are to suffer a massive setback with unemployment in South Africa. It is revealed that fewer than four in every 10 matriculants are going to get jobs, according to Neil Roets, CEO of debt management firm Debt Rescue, Fin24 reports.

Sadly, the number estimates that 500 000 of SA youth will join the steady increasing unemployed stats this year. According to Neil Roets a matriculant might get a low-paying job at a fast food outlet or something similar. “Lured by the multitude of loans made available by financial institutions and retail outlets – many of whom do not do an adequate affordability check – they borrow to the point where they become over-indebted and unable to service their debt,” he warned.

The report further reveals that: according to the Department of Education, a total of 801 688 pupils were registered for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination. This includes full-time and part-time candidates. The NSC results will be announced on January 5 2016 by the minister of basic education and results will be released to candidates by schools on January 6 2016.
