The report further states that, Cliff wants to get back to his role as part of judging panel on the show’s upcoming season set to kick off this month. The dismissal comes after Cliff was involved in controversy regarding a race debate around estate agent, Penny Sparrow. Responding Cliff posted: ‘People really don’t understand free speech at all.’ The response resulted into an attack by twitter users calling on M-Net to dismiss him from Idols SA.

From eNCA report

: Cliff’s lawyer, Eric Mabuza, confirmed to eNCA that his client was suing M-Net.

“He is suing for R25-million, including for defamation of character.”

Mabuza said the station had fired Cliff without having a “proper hearing”.
