We all have come a long way with the BlackBerry Smartphone – and we can’t however forget the BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) which made our lives easier data wise.

Now, the latest new is that as of 31 March 2016…BlackBerry will replace the official Facebook app with a new native app that will will direct users to the website version.

BlackBerry is urging its users to log via the web-based version of Facebook, as the Facebook app will no longer be supported on BlackBerry devices.

And WhatsApp?…

WhatsApp willย endย its support for the BlackBerry operating system at the end of 2016.

Facebook made the decision to discontinue support of their essential APIs for BlackBerry and WhatsApp announced they would end support for BlackBerry 10 and BBOS at the end of 2016. stated on BlackBerry Blog.

“We are extremely disappointed in their decision as we know so many users love these apps. We fought back to work with WhatsApp and Facebook to change their minds, but at this time, their decision stands (but let them know how you feel on social media, using the hashtag #ILoveBB10Apps),” sharesย BlackBerry in a blog post regarding its loss of Facebook’s support.
