The Super Mega aka just dropped sad news to those who were looking foraward to his performance at the 10 edition of Back to the City Festival expected to take place this month. The rapper released a statement to announce that he won’t be performing at the festival. This is due to the promoters of the show not giving him the spotlight he deserves, but rather giving it to other international acts who are booked to perform at the festival.
AKA explained in a statement that he wanted the festival organisers to make him the big deal considering that it’s been years (last in 2011) he has not performed at the festival. He wanted the organizers to give him the same spotlight that’s been give to international acts appearing on the lineup. ‘Bare in mind that the festival does not pay particularly well, so it wasn’t about the money. In fact I was prepared to do the show effectively for free’, the rapper said.
‘I will not allow an artist like myself to be reduced to a minor detail through promotion, production, hospitality or otherwise’, AKA stated.
