Well from now on the console will no longer be restocked or available on shelves after all retailers sell out their current stock.
Microsoft’s Phil Spencer stated ; ‘Xbox 360 means a lot to everyone in Microsoft. And while we’ve had an amazing run, the realities of manufacturing a product over a decade old are starting to creep up on us.’
Further he revealed that Xbox 360 owners will still receive updates , including for Xbox Live services for multiplayer gaming and parties, as well as any apps they’ve purchased. Support servers will also remain online, and the company’s support team will continue to service Xbox 360 consoles.
As for games, players will still be able to access their purchased Xbox 360 games.
So what’s next? For now we can assume that Microsoft will now focus on Xbox One, which is reportedly getting an update later this year.
