The Facebook-owned messaging service- WhatsApp has officially launched a desktop app for Mac and Windows computers.
Yes this means users can now chat/interact with their contacts using their desktop computers. WhatsApp has reached out to say the app provides a “new way to stay in touch anytime and anywhere – whether on your phone or computer at home or work.”
If you would like to download the app on your Mac or Windows head to whatsapp.com/download using your computer browser. After opening the app you will be required to scan the QR code using the WhatsApp app on your smartphone (be sure to look for WhatsApp Web menu under Settings).
