Saturday night was a celebration of the local music industry at Annual South African Music Awards proudly sponsored by AMSTEL #AmstelAmplified. The awards ceremony for the first time took place at the Durban ICC with fireworks performances, glamours fashion, A-list celebs and the cool amplified AMSTEL room. The night saw Black Coffee, Emtee, Nathi, Sfiso Ncwane and DBN NYTS being the major winners with of-course the major award being AMSTEL Record of the Year #AmstelROTY.
Nathi walked away with 5x awards with his debut project Nomvula , Black Coffee scooped 3x and Emtee walked away with two important awards of the night; Best Rap Album and #AmstelROTY which was brought by AMSTEL.
The #AmstelROTY category saw x10 of the biggest songs in South Africa compete with each other with names like; AKA, Nathi, Black Coffee and Riky Rick. But only one song was to walk away with the title.
