The popular microblogging service – Twitter has just increased the maximum GIF size to 15MB on the web from the original 5MB limit.
This means users will now be able to take advantage of uploading GIFs with much higher limit through twitter.com or using their computers, unfortunately you’ll still have smaller GIFs when using smartphone.
This change was noticed through it’s Help Center page detailing image, video, and GIF-posting regulations reflects the change under the ‘size and file type requirements’ section.
“Photos can be up to 5MB; animated GIFs can be up to 5MB on mobile, and up to 15MB on web,” the page states.
PC Mag revealed; Twitter first added GIF support in 2014, and this February partnered with Giphy and Riffsy to let you search for GIFs and share them without leaving the service. Now, when you’re composing a tweet or direct message, you can tap the GIF button (located next to the camera button) to search the GIF library by keyword or browse categories of different reactions, such as Happy, Dance, Mic Drop, or YOLO.
